  16.      local printers by removing the ._r_h_o_s_t_s file for the "lp" user account.
  17.      Additionally, if the "lp" account has no password, '*' is written into
  18.      the password field for the "lp" account in /etc/passwd.  This prevents
  19.      the "lp" account on other hosts from being able to _r_l_o_g_i_n(3C) to the
  20.      local "lp" account, which disables printer sharing.

  23.      uuuunnnnsssshhhhaaaarrrreeeePPPPrrrriiiinnnntttteeeerrrrssss will not succeed in disabling access to local printers if
  24.      one of the files /_e_t_c/_h_o_s_t_s._e_q_u_i_v or /_e_t_c/_h_o_s_t_s._l_p_d contains entries
  25.      other than "localhost".  hosts named in either of these files will be
